Taming 7
Taming 7 by Chloe Walsh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Taming 7 has stopped me from finding words for at least two weeks, I’ve finally have been able to process my thoughts and so, here we go. Since the very first book I immediately knew I would love Gibsie and that he would hold a special place in my heart.. The BoT series is heavy, to say the least, but they are so worth it. You get to see and know these amazing characters and grow a love so deep for them that you feel they’re real.
My golden boy… so funny, quick witted, who’s craic is 90 and loves his girl unconditionally. Seeing what it was like in his head was so heartbreaking, he felt like he didn’t deserve anything and was not able to have anything good in his life. His story was a lot deeper than I had imagined and my heart physically ached for him, his pain was so much deeper than we knew but you would never guess it from the way he puts himself out in the world. My sunshine girl has a heart of gold, so fiercely devoted to Gibsie in every way shape and form, a little stubborn and impulsive but it’s all coming from a good place. The way they both loved each other was on another level, it was intense, and so amazing to see how these two friends have always had a connection through the years and finally ended up together. I think in every lifetime they would find each other because you could tell from the very beginning they were soulmates
They radiated chemistry and humor and the genuine love they have for each other was so authentic, I loved seeing how their story progressed from the little glimpse we got of their childhood to seeing how everything happened from Binding 13 to now.
The friendship between Johnny and Gibsie is priceless; their friendship is truly one of the many highlights of his story. These two have such a special and unique bond with each other and THAT ONE SCENE made me whole, I think that part hit me the hardest. Johnny had no idea that he was saving his friend's life or how important he was to him. Their love for each other is so profound that I couldn't stop crying the entire time. The amount of love these two have for one another is indescribable; it cannot be expressed in words.
“Because you’re my Gibs”
“And you’re my Kav”
I also believe that Darren has earned a little bit of my respect. I hated him but maybe he has a redemption arc coming too..
I will say that I think we deserve another book for them because although we did get Gibsie’s story I think Claire and Gibsie’s romance was overshadowed by Lizzie the she devil. I truly do not understand why she made so many appearances.. I don’t even know how she still has friends. I understand people are hurt and go through things but no, she was over the top on the things she’s said and did to Gibs and no one put her in her place except for Claire and Johnny. Shannon, Joey and Gibsie went through absolute hell and they never did anything so horrible.. she has to have ONE HELL OF A REDEMPTION ARC in her book because I will never let it go.
Gibsie’s story is about healing the parts of you that you think you believe are inevitably broken and tainted, acceptance of things you can’t change and moving forward despite the pain. Gibsie is a strong character and I will forever love him no matter what like the other BoT boys but nonetheless the outcome of my heart is always the same, utterly destroyed and put back together again.
Painfully waiting for the next book even though it’s about Lizzie… and really wanting to see how things turn out among these friends.
