Butcher & Blackbird
Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
UHM THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING, SERIAL KILLERS OR NOT I AM DEFINITLEY ABOUT THE DARK ROMANCE.
Brynne did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life; it felt like a dark rom-com, and I relished every moment of it. Sloane, gosh, I just loved her. She was a strong, independent female and merciless killer when it came down to it, but deep down she's just like any insecure girl you'd meet, and I liked the contrast in her.
I was turning pages quickly and kept wanting to know more and more. My goodness, Rowan Kane—I really believe that we all need someone like him. I was captivated from the first page onward, and yes, I love that I can see him with an Irish accent. However, it was torture to see how these two individuals, who lead similar lives, torment themselves because of their intense attraction to one another. The angst and tension were killing me, and I could feel the heat on my skin. They understood each other in a broken, sadistic way, yet they still fell in love, which made them the only ones who were perfect for each other.
Rowan's brothers realized who they were and accepted it while still being there for each other. Lachlan is so interesting, and I can't wait for his book. Sloane having Lark also added to their dynamic she was such an amazing friend and I oved that she accepted Sloane for who she is too. Cliffhangers always make me want more and Brynne left me feeling that way, the story came to life and that’s all I could as for.
4.5! Seriously the anticipation is killing me!
