All the Little Raindrops

All the Little Raindrops by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“They were like wounded warriors who had been through the bloodiest of battles together.”

PSA: First off let me say, PLEASE look at the trigger warnings. I usually don’t look at them because I liked to be surprised but from now on, I will be looking at them. I only say this because as soon the book starts, they are all there, no warning so let me list them for you.

-Kidnapping
-Human trafficking
-Rape
-Sexual Assault
-Captivity

This is a DARK and intense psychological thriller, and I know it won’t be for everyone. I really thought it was going to be a DNF, because I truly did not see any of it coming, and I was relieved that it was only the first 15-20% of the book and that none of these went into gruesome details about the experiences. We have 3 POV’s Noelle and Evan are our main FMC and MMC and The Collector," who, to be honest, was the highlight of the entire story. His voice was perfect, and he made a compelling puppet master. Noelle and Evan already have bad blood between them because Evan’s father killed Noelle’s mother, so when they are both kidnapped, they find themselves in a situation where they must trust and count on each other and everything changes. I cried multiple times within the first hour and I had to pause my audiobook because it was intense, but I pushed through.

“We leave here whole. We leave here together.”

This phrase left me in tears every time I heard it, the way these two were completely attached together after such a horrible tragedy and seeing how they moved through life after. I believe it simply demonstrated tremendous growth on Noelle and Evan's side. They didn't let it stop them from living, and despite their scars, they never gave up.

I will say the take on this story, the plot, the human trafficking ring, and the underworld was very interesting, because not only are we dealing with trauma bonds, but Mia Sheridan threw in a romantic element which I thoroughly enjoyed and, in the end, I did like the book. There are so many twists and turns throughout that my head was spinning because then I felt like I was guessing as to who did what and who was who. We also had two additional points of view, which I believe were unnecessary, but gave a great dynamic after the halfway point. Other than that, if you push through, I think you would find the book actually very gripping because there are so many secrets, and discoveries made that my jaw dropped because nothing is as it seems.
