Hopeless
Hopeless by Elsie Silver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm going to be honest; beau was actually one of my favorite characters since the first book and reading his story was a bit underwhelming when it came to his love interest with Bailey. Not to say I didn't like her character but maybe it was just all the anticipation of wanting his story so bad and it didn't meet my full standards.
However, I still loved Beau's story and what he overcame. I have family in the military and I'm proud of the so reading about Beau hit closer to home then I thought it would but also seeing the shift in how character from how he was to how he became was a big turning point and I think that hit right on the nose.
I did like Bailey's character we kind of saw her develop a bit throughout the books even though she wasn't talked about as much, but her background story is really sad. She really wanted to change her life around and of course our hero boy Beau wants to help, the way he defends and protects Bailey was just so cute and I'll never get over it.
Bailey being able to see through Beau's charade of acting like everything I okay and calling him out on it I thought was refreshing, because everyone was tip toeing around Beau, and he just wanted normal but as family it's hard to do that for someone you love. Bailey being a virgin heroine was a first for me, especially with the age gap but it was a fun read especially Harvey getting his happy ending I was the most excited about that, he made me laugh throughout the whole series. Nonetheless, I loved the chestnut spring series, and I cannot way to dive into her new series that's coming out, because I have high hopes.
