Heartless
Heartless by Elsie Silver
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
First off this is my first age-gap single-dad and nanny trope and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. These cowboys are going to be the literal death of me, and I don't mind. 5 stars!
Willa and Cade, I love these two. The way they unofficially met was the funniest thing ever when her panties dropped out of her purse and him being the gentleman not realizing what it was picked it up. Willa is a free spirit, spunky, and a psycho for the people she loves which just makes her so easy to love and Cade is the grumpy single dad who does not trust anyone and only loves him family and son until he meets Willa.
Cade and Willa’s banter was everything, I love the grumpy x sunshine roll because when the walls start to break down and you actually get to know the characters it just makes it that more wholesome.
The spice was SPICING between these two and hot damn, I'm telling you these cowboy's man... There's just something about a grumpy man who is always so serious and stuck up that him bringing down those walls, losing his control and going feral after such a long time does something to me.
Cade's son Luke... I ADORED him, I love that these characters feel so real and seeing how much Luke loves Willa and vice versa really just mad my heart burst with so much love. Willa is probably my favorite girl throughout the series so far, the way she loves and cares for the people around her is so admirable, there was one line in the entire book that really stuck out to me, and I completely relate to her and it.
"Life lesson, shithead. Careful who you pick a fight with. Someone insane might love him." - screaming, kicking because this is ingrained in my brain and will live rent free there.
Heartless was a beautiful story about two people who didn't think they deserved a HEA and ended up fighting for it, themselves and each other and it just had all the feels. Cade finally letting someone in and being happy after what's happened to him just made me want to hug them both. They really brought out the best in each other and it is my favorite in the series.
