Verity
Verity by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Just to be clear, I respect and fully understand why some people may not enjoy the book. The plot is dark but makes for a good read, if you can’t handle graphic or twisting events, then read at your own risk... 4/5
This was my first psychological thriller of the year and my FIRST Colleen Hoover book and was definitely a wtf read for me. While I can handle a lot, there were times when reading this that made my stomach knot up—not in a gory of gruesome way but rather because of how meticulously everything is described. Do you know why I pushed through? I finished this in 11 hours because of how captivating her writing was! She really has a way with words, and I read it through to the end because I was so interested in learning about what would transpire and knew that I would not be able to sleep if I didn’t.
The story starts off with a bang but to sum it up a woman named Lowen who is a writer is having serious financial difficulties and just when she thought her life was ruined, the opportunity of a lifetime arises for her. I was so dumbfounded by the end I really had to process everything I read and let me just say if you liked ‘The Silent Patient’ then you’re in for a treat.
Looking forward to my next Colleen Hoover read!
